Where Can You Find Free Chore Charts?

Hi everyone, I just wanted to share this with you.

Here is an article I just posted on my Allowance Secrets Blog.

Enjoy!

Where can you find free chore charts? You don’t have to look for them on the internet. You don’t have to look for them in department or toy stores. In fact, free chore charts are very easy to find.

Before I tell you where to find free chore charts, let’s stop a moment and discuss chores. Is it important for our children to do chores? Should they get paid for doing these chores?

Yes, it is definitely important for children to do chores. Children need to increase their self-worth. They need to increase their self-esteem. When your children accomplish their chores, they feel proud of themselves. They gain a sense of well-being. Doing chores in a family strengthens the family unit.

What about payment? Should children get paid for doing chores? I think they should get paid. I don’t think they should get paid for doing the “usual and routine” chores each family member contributes to the family unit. Doing chores around the house (or apartment or wherever you live) or elsewhere is one way to show your commitment to your family. We need to encourage more family commitment. ;o)

Having a chore chart, using free chore charts, will make scheduling your chores easier. Why? Time is more valuable than money. You don’t want to waste your time and neither do your children want to waste theirs. Chores need to be scheduled so that they can be accomplished in a timely manner.

Of course, you can make a chore chart from lined school paper. But for free chore charts why not use those free calendars either mailed alone from some organizations asking for a donation or included in other purchased stationery supplies. These calendars are free and can easily be made into free chore charts. You really don’t have to buy a store-bought chore chart.

What chores are being scheduled? Special and unusual chores done for the family or friends or neighbours. Have your children mark the specific day or days what they have to do. Feed the pets of their friends or neighbours who are away. Water their plants. Collect their mail. Clean out garages or basements. Tutor a sibling or friend. A list of these chores is endless! ;o)

Remember, moms can be money coaches and teachers. Foster financial independence by helping your children find kid-friendly, creative ways to earn money. Money should not be expected, but earned. You can lead by example too.

Be mindful of what your children are seeing, hearing and experiencing about money. Being good about money requires letting your children see you handling the difficult financial aspects of life. Watching your money choices make your lives rich will enhance their ability to learn to make money choices that make their lives rich as well.

Download my ebook “Allowance Secrets: To Give or Not To Give” where the top 25 “kids and money” experts, family coaches, and highly successful entrepreneurs share their personal opinions and tips on whether or not to give your children an allowance. Read what they have to say about chores as well.

By using these free chore charts, you will be encouraging an entrepreneurial mindset for your children. You want your children to learn that if they want money, they have to think of ways to create it. Empower your children. Open their minds to the possibility of achieving a goal and give them the responsibility for creating a solution.

Here’s to your children using free chore charts to schedule those unusual and out-of-the-ordinary chores. Fuel your children’s entrepreneurial thinking and independence. Remind them of what Henry Miller once said: “All growth Is a leap in the dark, a spontaneous unpremeditated act without benefit of experience.”

Each situation is an opportunity to teach your child to be an empowered, self-sufficient, independent, generous, and most importantly, happy, young adult.
